Tom runs a marathon
Four years ago Tom lost his Mother to cancer and to mark this, wanted to do something again for St Helena Hospice, who cared for her in the final weeks of her life. After racking his brain to think of something crazy he could do and a conversation with Sarah at St Helena, she asked if he would be happy to run a virtual marathon on Sunday 4th October.
After a heavy, lazy lockdown period with far too much food and drink, plus of course, like most people, little exercise, he could barely run 50 yards let alone 26.1 miles. But Tom does love a challenge and duly accepted their offer. He knocked the alcohol and bad foods on the head and pushed himself to the limits to complete 26.1 miles in one day.
He smashed it, of course and we are incredibly proud of his efforts in raising a whopping £1580.25!
WELL DONE TOM! You are an inspiration!
